Deck the Runway 2022 Recap

How do you put one of the top experiences of your life into a few paragraphs?

 Deck the Runway was a fashion event in Orlando, FL on Saturday, Dec 3rd. It was hosted and sponsored by Fancy by Francesca Watson and MC’d by Lyrica Anderson (Singer), with special performance by Alyssa Gruyere (American Idol).

My heart is SO FULL right now.

Full of excitement and joy from the, and joy, and hope, and energy.

Getting to love on all the models who walked for me, letting them know that they are not my walking mannequin, they are a person, full of life, and that they are here, in this moment, for a reason,

Seeing the expressions on the models’ faces when they tried on the clothes (I could see that they were genuinely excited to wear my clothing),

Working through the flurry of fittings and alterations, (and making it work!)

Choosing music that fit my brand and the message I want to convey,

Basking in the glow of watching these ladies walk tall and proud down the runway, and soaking in the love and support and excitement that people showed for my designs.

I was told that I have something special going on. Designs that people will want to buy and wear.

 Maybe you are sitting there saying “duh!”, but to hear pointed comments like that from people who have been in the fashion industry for a lot longer than I have, it meant a lot to fuel the fire and the conviction that I am where I am supposed to be.

 I am ready to keep going, to keep pushing toward launch. We are one pattern iteration away from being ready to create the full sample set, then to photography, then to LAUNCH!!
