Remember to Remember

Do you remember a time when you truly “let loose”? Where you were fully and completely engaged in the moment, where you weren’t thinking or wondering what people thought of you?

I’ll give you a minute.

Because it had been a long, long time for me too.

A few weeks ago I went on a women’s retreat, the Millionaire Mompreneur Ignite Retreat, to be exact. There, I met an amazing group of women and talked about our businesses and our families. And our beautiful host, Jessie Bouton, the Millionaire Mompreneur herself totally spoiled us with photoshoots and amazing food, and meeting in the freaking presidential suite at Loews Hotel in Miami Beach.

But my experience happened after the meetings and pep talks were done for the day… two other ladies and I decided that since we were in Miami Beach we had better go dancing.

We ended up at a club called Mango where they had live music and were playing Mexican club music from the mid-2000s. Now for those of you who don’t know, my first real club experience was while I was studying abroad in Mexico, so all of these amazing memories come flooding back to me.

Then they played Taio Cruz’s Dynamite. And the line where he sings “I want to celebrate and live my life“ hit me SO HARD. Because I don’t believe we are just mean to survive. Jesus himself says that “I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly”.

Then the second blast hit me on the line “and IIiiiiii believe it and Iiiiiiii, I just want it all, I just want it all.” Because YES, I want it all. I want to be a successful business owner, I want to be a mom that has a great relationship with her kids, I want to have a fantastic, deep relationship with my husband, and I want to use my business to empower others to live their best lives.

So I danced more freely, I immersed myself in the music, I savored the moment with abandon. And had a BLAST.

The phrase “Remember to Remember” became the mantra of the retreat. And even now, when I notice myself starting to feel uptight or self-conscious, or losing motivation, I remember the feeling of dancing my butt off at the club in Miami Beach,

So how about you?

Do you remember your experience? What did it feel like?

(Here is a lyric video for Dynamite by Taio Cruz in case you forgot the song)
